Now if you’re 11 or under Christmas simply can’t start until you’ve had a very special Christmas party with games, lots of fun and lots of laughter together with a chance to get your own balloon animal or even a balloon sword! …. And of course be covered in fake snow.

The party, for the children of Mayfield, was organised and supported by MARNA, Mayfield’s own Neighbourhood Association. As well all the above there was also games, music and dancing, before that full party lunch and the arrival of Santa Claus

The party started at 10am and was great fun for all including Mr Claus and his special Elf friend who came all the way from the North Pole to greet every child in his special grotto on the stage, It was a great start to a children’s Christmas with many asking Santa to be sure to call on Christmas Eve.

However, for the parents there was good news and bad news! The children were having the best of times but there was still a good two weeks to go until Christmas Eve – and if they are already this excited, how much more extreme would it get before Santa finally climbed down all those chimneys!

And all of those excited children meant that it was a party they would not forget a key part of the whole Christmas experience.

Our thanks to all the Marna volunteers who made it happen, to parents who kept everyone safe and of course to a certain Santa who stopped off from the North Pole to make our children very happy indeed.
