Description
Red Mint – Mentha rubra. Grows in sun or partial shade. If left to flower it is a favourite with bees with its purple flowers. Red Mint has a spearmint smell and is good for cooking or making mint tea. It has red stems and green leaves.
A herbaceous perennial, it dies back to below ground level each year in autumn then grows anew in spring. Will thrive anywhere but particularly likes moist areas in partial shade. Can be invasive so best grown in a pot.
