The Mayfield village fete will be opened by Andrew Griffiths MP on 31st August at the MRA Playing Fields, Conygree Lane, Mayfield, DE6 2HW. With Boothay shire horses, children’s fun fair rides, birds of prey, mobile bar from the “Mayfield Arms”, barbeque, bouncy castle, line dancing, walking football, stalls, fun dog show, dog training demo, candy floss, ice cream and more.

Stalls include craft, plants, food, health and beauty. The Staffordshire Wildlife Trust, Uttoxeter Division Girlguiding, Alder Carr Farm and vintage motor bikes will also be there. The Heritage stall will show the art and history of well dressings in the area. For refreshment there is not only the barbeque and bar, but fairtrade coffee, pizza fresh from the pizza oven, crepes and cakes. See below for the full list so far.

If you would like a stall all we ask is a for donation which will be split between MARNA and the MRA – to go to future events and community projects. The Memorial Hall bar are very kindly giving 50% of their profits on the day whilst the Parish Council are donating all the profits from their tombola!

The program for the day so far is as follows.

10 am Andrew Griffiths MP opens the Fete
10 am to 12 pm Register for the fun dog show at the far right corner of the field
10 am to 2 pm Harley the Harris Hawk is by the MUGA – pop along and say hello
10 to 3 pm Barbeque by Trent and Dove Housing Association
11 am to 12 pm Line dancing in the newly boarded MUGA
11.30 am Harley the Harris Hawk flies from the corner by the MUGA
12 pm First three classes of dog show: Prettiest Oldie, Cutest Puppy, Waggiest Tail. Judging by Sarah of Wagging Tails Derbyshire
12.30 to 1.30 pm Walking football in the MUGA
2 pm Dog Training demonstration by Trish from TPL Dog Training of Upper Mayfield
2.30 pm Final three classes of dog show: Best Condition, King of Dogs, Queen of Dogs

Thanks to all who have donated a prize for the raffle or dog show, including the Mayfield Rose and Crown for their voucher. Other prizes include a slab of Carling lager (24 pints), a bottle of Laphroaig malt whisky, chocolates and children’s prizes.

Please note that your photo may be taken at the fete. By attending it is assumed that you give your consent for the photo to be used if this should happen.

Finding the Fete


Parking at the MRA is just for stall-holders and Bowls Club. Instead we’ve been given the use of part of the next-door field for parking (thank you Mr Harrison). You can also park at the Church Rooms and outside the Church.

Stall Holders

Stall holders can set up anytime after 8.30 am.
